With more than four decades of experience, few know the ins and outs of Wills and Estate law like Rod Behenna.
Since being admitted to practice in 1970, Rod has continued to adapt his practice to an ever-changing society that continues to impact Wills and Estates law, and he embraces the challenges that come with that.
Wills and Estate Administration has been Rod’s focus for most of his career. At his previous firm he was the head of its private client department for more than 20 years, its managing partner for ten years and a senior partner before joining Tindall Gask Bentley as a consultant in 2011.
Rod expertly drafts intricate Wills for complex circumstances including blended families and children with special needs.
He is sought after by high net worth individuals who often require testamentary trusts and advice about gaining taxation benefits, and he manages Power of Attorney arrangements for those who are unable or no longer wish to handle their affairs.
Rod places a high importance on face to face contact with clients, who are often dealing with the loss of a loved one and daunting Estate requirements. He takes control of the legal issues and clearly explains the process, the timing and the costs, which gives the client peace of mind.
Rod also has a longstanding interest in heritage matters. He was South Australian Commissioner on the Australian Heritage Commission, Australia’s peak heritage body, for six years. In that time he was Chairman of the natural heritage sub-committee and also served on the historic and audit sub-committees of the Commission.
